Fluorescence
AstraNet has installations where the application involves measuring fluorescence from solid samples.

A fluorescence probe is offered up to the sample. The excitation wavelengths can be provided by an LED or a broadband light source.

The emitted wavelength is collected by a fibre optic cable with a cut-off filter placed in front to remove the source radiation.

AstraNet has supplied special probes with its spectrometers for fluorescence applications.  The combination of the probe and spectrometer constitutes a powerful low-cost portable fluorimeter

The illumination source to provide the excitation wavelength can either be specially selected LED’s or a broadband source such as a tungsten lamp with a bandpass filter.

A cut-off filter is positioned in front of the return fibre to eliminate the source illumination.
